Now E, a new service for people to enjoy entertainment contents over the internet by PCCW Media, is offering Hongkongers unprecedented flexibility when it comes to choosing what you want to watch and how much you want to pay. As well as offering all the best programs from across HBO, Movie Movie, Now Baogu, and ViuTV, Now E has a hassle-free pricing model that allows users to subscribe to the service with a free-to-go pricing model. With Now E, no longer do you have to commit to expensive yearly contracts. You can sign up for a day, week, month or year. And if you’re looking for a platform that provides a complete entertainment package, with more than just TV shows and movies, know that Now E also offers world-class football. You can catch action from both the Premier League and La Liga by day, month or season – whatever’s your preference. There are other major sports tournaments to catch too, from golf, snooker, badminton and many others to come.

If this sounds ideal – and with the ability to choose your length of subscription, why wouldn’t it? – here are five of the best TV shows available on Now E’s HBO GO channel that we recommend you sign up for today.

5 unmissable shows of 2018 available on Now E

Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones

Okay, so there’s no new Game of Thrones season for 2018 but with the climax to TV’s most popular show on the horizon next year, now’s the time to rewatch the past seven seasons in preparation for what’s to come. So whether you haven’t discovered what all the fuss is about yet or are keen to catch up, HBO GO is your ticket to Westeros! Find out who will claim the Iron Throne, which dragons will survive and what will become of the White Walkers. Winner of 47 Emmy Awards, this is unmissable television. Complete seasons 1 to 7 now available.

Westworld

Westworld

The biggest sci-fi hit since Lost, Westworld has entranced viewers since it began airing on HBO two years ago. That’s unsurprising given the pedigree of its creators Jonathan Nolan (writer on the movies Memento, The Dark Knight and Interstellar) and Lisa Joy (responsible for Pushing Daisies and Burn Notice). Set in a futuristic Wild West theme park where rich guests can indulge their fantasies, Westworld touches on high-minded themes like artificial intelligence, personal agency and what it means to be human, it’s no surprise the series has won a clutch of Primetime and Primetime Creative Emmys.

Barry

Barry

New this year, Barry has launched to incredible critical acclaim and won the 2018 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Bill Hader) and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Henry Winkler – yes, Happy Day’s Fonz). The series follows former US marine Barry Berkman, a budget hitman who moves to Los Angeles to fulfil a contract on an aspiring actor. Following his target into an acting class, Barry suddenly discovers an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the local theatre scene. But can he ditch his criminal past and move on in this new environment?

The Handmaid’s Tale

The Handmaid’s Tale

The most talked-about show for the last 12 months, The Handmaid’s Tale is based on Margaret Atwood’s award-winning novel. The series, now with two seasons under its belt, tells the story of Offred, a ‘handmaid’ enslaved for her ability to have children in the series’s largely infertile world. With prescient themes surrounding women's rights, religion, politics and much more, The Handmaid’s Tale has dominated the discourse surrounding popular culture since it began airing. Winner of 11 Emmy Awards so far, this is one of the most quality shows around. Both seasons one and two are now available.

Sharp Objects

Sharp Objects

Based on the debut novel by Gillian Flynn – of Gone Girl fame – Sharp Objects is a psychological thriller condensed into eight intense episodes. Amy Adams stars as a crime reporter who returns to her hometown in Missouri – having been recently discharged from a psychiatric hospital after years of self-harming – to investigate the murders of two young girls. Adams is on career-best form and the series has been described as this year’s Big Little Lies.
