National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild says
Criminal and Immigration Bars to Humanitarian Relief
Sponsored by National Immigration Project and University of Houston Law Center Immigration Clinic.

The program will begin with an overview of select forms of humanitarian immigration relief, with emphasis on identifying and analyzing criminal offenses and public safety issues that may trigger a bar to such forms of relief. The morning and early afternoon sessions will focus on deferred action programs and other humanitarian visas, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), Expanded DACA, and DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents) described in President Obama's executive order, and U and T visa relief for victims of workplace crime. The afternoon will also include a panel on complex issues around expedited removal and reinstatement of removal as well as a session on family detention, especially bond strategies.
