In celebration of Houston Museum District’s Museum Experience: Zone 2, join us at Asia Society Texas Center to explore identity and ancestry through themed art projects and engaging tours of The Other Side: Chinese and Mexican Immigration to America exhibition.
Admission to the gallery on April 25 is free and open to the public.

Tell the story of who you and your family are through the written word or a decorative collage. Activity led by Houston Metropolitan Research Center and Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research / Houston Public Library. Recommended for all ages.

Oral Histories Project
12-4 pm
Video record the story of your family and your identity as a Houstonian. Activity led by Houston Metropolitan Research Center and Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research / Houston Public Library. Recommended for ages 12 and up.

Architecture Tour
12 pm
Explore Yoshio Taniguchi’s first free-standing structure in the United States. Tour runs approximately 45 minutes. Recommended for ages 9 and up.

Art Gallery Tour
1, 2, and 3 pm
Take a docent-led tour of Asia Society Texas Center’s most recent feature exhibition, The Other Side: Chinese and Mexican Immigration to America. Tours run between 45 minutes and 1 hour. Recommended for ages 9 and up.

Papel Picado Activity
1-4 pm
Create animal motifs and floral designs with this Mexican folk art, popularized by Dia de los Muertos ancestral altars. Activity led by local artist Jean King. Recommended for ages 6 and up.
