Join the international Human Rights Day celebration in Houston! This is a family-friendly, educational and fun day to support and celebrate human rights and freedoms in Houston and around the world. Be a part of something big and enjoy a fun day filled with musical entertainment, activities for kids and adults, educational speakers, and contributions from non-profit, business and civic leaders. Don't miss out on Houston history - join us with your friends and family on December 5th!

HOUSTON HUMAN RIGHTS DAY PROGRAM
Here are all the great things happening on the event stage between 1 and 4pm:

1. Opening remarks from Mayor Annise Parker

2. Keynote addresses by:
- Angela Blanchard (CEO, Neighborhood Centers Inc..)
- Dr. Stephen Klineberg (Founding Director, Rice University Kinder Institute for Urban Research)
- Dr. Bill Flores (President, University of Houston-Downtown), and
- The Honorable Chaja Verveer (Texas Holocaust & Genocide Commission)

3. Performances by:
- HCC Central Dance Ensemble
- Ballet Folklorico
- GĐPT Huyền Quang Lion Dance Team
- Strictly Street Salsa

4. Presentation of the first Houston Human Rights Awards

5. Presentation of raffle prizes, including
- meals at local restaurants
- gift cards & baskets from local retailers
- weekend getaways

EVENT LAWN: 1-4pm
In between all the exciting things going on on the event stage, check out interactive activities and displays for all ages on the event lawn. Over 30 public, non-profit and private organizations will have booths to showcase their contributions to human rights in Houston and beyond!
