About this show:

Bleeding Nonsense & Vinal Edge Records are proud to announce the Southern leg of Richard Pinhas' 2016 US Tour. These special shows mark the first time in his 40+ year career that he has ever made it to Texas, and one of only a handful of times he has preformed in the United States. The shows will feature Richard preforming a solo set using synthesizer & electric guitar.

About Richard Pinhas:

Richard Pinhas emerged musically in the early 1970s as leader of the near-mythical band Heldon, the French trio that created a series of sonic otherworlds with their unmatchable take on nightmare psych and synth-heavy prog, though that description barely does justice to the liquid alien sounds the band produced. Back in 1974, Pinhas received his PhD in Philosophy from the Sorbonne, where he had studied with French philosopher Gilles Deleuze and written his dissertation, ''Science-Fiction, Inconscient et Autres Machins'', on the intersections of time, time manipulation, science fiction and analogue electronic music. That same year he founded Heldon. a band that fused his searing guitar with experimental electronics to revolutionize rock music in France. By 1976 Heldon had released several albums on Pinhas' Disjuncta label (one of France's first independent labels). Composer, guitarist and electronics innovator Richard Pinhas is recognized as one of France's major experimental musicians and is a pivotal figure in the development of electronic rock.
