The event creator says
Come on out and get your steel fix with me and the gang with special guests Geoffrey Muller on bass , and Josh Artall on piano! If you haven't had a chance to come out and get your boots tappin', now's your chance! We kick things off at 10. The Big Top will be open around 9

Skrla Steel Trio bangs out steel instrumentals like hell wouldn't have it. SST evolved out of numerous well-regarded bands (the Working Girls, Charlie and the Regrets, the Beyonders, the Switchblade Haircut Band) via hot sessions at Western Swing Wednesday (with any number of ace musicians) into the current lineup. They've backed a cadre of songwriters (Jason James, Brad Boyer, D. Kosmo, Jimmy Pizzitola) and as a trio presently scorch local stages as Houston's premiere purveyors of pedal- steel-centric classic swing, honky tonk and Hawaiian instrumentals.
Kevin Skrla (pedal steel guitar) is a country music aficionado, coffee connoisseur and recording engineer, and one of Houston's most in-demand pedal steel players. Like the other members of SST he's forgotten more projects than most folks have even been in, but other ones you might spot him in at the moment include the Broken Spokes and the Jason James Band. He is also a 4th-generation Czech-Texan and urges you to add "Czechxan" to your phone's dictionary. (Runner up: "Tzexch".)
Shane Lauder (drums) has been a mainstay of the Houston music scene for decades, playing with stalwarts like JW Americana, Sideshow Tramps, the Mahas and of course SST. Look in 2018 for a chapter from his forthcoming autobiography ("Tecate for 12- year-olds") in Houstonia (or, failing that, stapled to the men's room wall in Poison Girl). Besides being one of Heat City's finest drummers, Shane is also a proud father, an accomplished audio and electrical engineer, and a retired dirt-track racer. His favorite color is teal.
