A Screening / Live Webcast

Friday, January 15, 2016, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Houston Arts Alliance, 3201 Allen Parkway, Suite 150

Join Houston Arts Alliance’s Sara Kellner, director of Civic Art + Design, for a public screening of The Ford Foundation’s “The Artists of Change: Conversations with the Ford Fellows.”

This event will be a creative forum during which Art of Change Fellows, 13 creative visionaries working at the forefront of art and social change, share their work and spark lively conversation around the ideas they are exploring. This year the Ford Foundation's Art of Change project has been exploring the role of art and culture in creating an equitable and just society through dialogues with artists, cultural leaders, scholars and social justice activists. Over the course of the year, the Fellows—Robert Battle, Thelma Golden, Amitav Ghosh, David Henry Hwang, Deeyah Khan, Arnold Lehman, Joy Mboya, Laura Poitras, Bill Rauch, Toshi Reagon, Pedro Reyes, Albie Sachs and Carrie Mae Weems—have pursued independent projects on critical issues such as surveillance, climate change, drug policy, capitalism, soft power, diversity in the arts, social networks and the power of technology.

The forum is being streamed live from New York and screened locally by Houston Arts Alliance.
