Gulf Coast Literary Journal says
This lecture and moderated Q+A will mark the first US visit of celebrated Korean poet and thinker Kim Kyung Ju. Kim and Jake Levine, who translated Kim's bestselling poetry collection "I Am A Season That Does Not Exist in the World," will co-present a lecture that considers the linguistic, social, ideological, and political challenges of translating contemporary Korean poetry for an American audience.

The lecture will be followed by Q+A moderated by UH professor Roberto J. Tejada, and will include the insights of two other contemporary translators: Soyeon Lee, a UH graduate student who has translated several classic texts from English into Korean, and Ji Yoon Lee, whose co-collaboration of the “gurlesque” radical feminist poetry of Kim Yi-Deum was just released by Action Books.
