Until 20 Screening At World Fest Houston International Film Festival says
“Until 20,” a documentary that follows James Ragan through the last year of his life battling cancer, will be featured at the upcoming WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

The film celebrates the extraordinary life of James, who was diagnosed at age 13 with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. He had a passion for family, friends, sports, a cure for childhood cancers and the mission of MD Anderson, where he was a patient, and he was determined to live what the filmmakers call “an audaciously good life.”

James was also a devoted advocate and fundraiser, encouraging support for pediatric cancer research. In August 2012, he was named the first Special Ambassador to MD Anderson.

In “Until 20,” James encourages viewers to reflect on what life would be like if you knew it to be your last year to live. For James, that year was only his 20th.

The film also gives an in-depth view of the internal workings of MD Anderson and cancer care, as well as the doctors, nurses and team members who came to know the Ragan family well, including Dr. Valerae Lewis, Dr. Ara Vaporciyan and Dr. Winston Huh.

To date, the film has been recognized with the following awards:

-Hiscox Audience Award in Marquee Feature Category - 22nd Austin Film Festival
-Inaugural Hiscox Courage Award - 22nd Austin Film Festival
-Audience Award for Documentary Feature - 28th Virginia Film Festival
