Young Mammals (Houston, TX)

Despite all the racket in their pop, there is a quiet charisma that radiates from Young Mammals, something they may not even be aware of. The childhood friends of Cley Miller (guitar) and brothers Jose (bass) and Carlos Sanchez (vocals, guitar) have been have been making music together since middle school, first with an EP as The Dimes, then followed by Young Mammals' full-length Carrots and two seven-inches. All modestly released, these records have hit hard for those lucky enough to come across them, resulting in invitations to play at CMJ, SXSW, Noise Pop, and Iceland Airwaves.

"from blustery power-pop to hushed art punk, with a youthful energy pushing equally through evocative guitar chords and gutsy vocals." -Impose

" four energetic lads powering through some 90s-tinged indie with full-throttle intent so infectious every note I tried to take is complete scribble." - New York Press

" full of atmospheric indie rock, in the vein of Broken Social Scene and the Flaming Lips. Pop melodies swirl with lush, reverb-heavy guitars. It’s noisy but not abrasive; a garage band melting in the summer heat." - True Genius Requires Insanity
