Tel Aviv is Israel’s self-proclaimed city of love–sure, Paris has dimly lit winding streets and romantic appeal, but Tel Aviv has an alcohol-infused culture and unabashed local nature. From beaches and parks to bars and movie theaters, (almost) anywhere in the White City is fair game to get cozy or go in for a kiss. Whether it’s the month of Tu B’av–Israel’s very own Valentine's Day–or a weekday in October, head to any of these spots for a good ol’ tongues-down-each-others'-thro
Go in for a kiss at these spots around Tel Aviv
With a multitude of rooms, staircases, and patios all dimly lit with twinkly-lights, Kuli Alma is the perfect place for some covert PDA. This popular spot is a go-to for Tel Avivian artsy types, so come with someone or get to know a bearded hipster at the bar. Don’t be surprised if somewhere between the gummy-topped slushies and hip DJ beats you begin to think a little less about Kuli and a little more about kissing.
Overlooking the city of Tel Aviv, this seaside park in Jaffa provides an ideal romantic setting. Walking distance from tasty eateries and hip bars, go to this park after a date, or meet up here for a picnic in the park. Marvel at the sight of the White City, the stars, an outdoor movie–or simply each other.
Whether you’re stumbling out of a Shalvata with someone you just met, or stopping for a cold drink on your couples bike ride, the Tel Aviv Port is a visually pleasing place to go in for a kiss. With daytime seaside views, and nighttime concert and club vibes, there’s never a bad time to get cozy on the shared portside seating.
Return to the days of middle school, and snag a kiss at this hidden theater. Although making out anywhere else in Dizengoff Center would not be advised (except possibly the elephant slide), the peace and privacy of the Lev Tel Aviv make it an ideal place to cozy up. Plush seats plus popcorn always equals the perfect makeout spot.
In Park HaYarkon people are doing it on boats, at the back of concerts, and even while hovering in hot air balloons–and yes, I do mean making out. The White City’s own Central Park might not be the location for Sex and the City tapings, but it sure is the spot for many Tel Avivians’ romantic endeavors.
No matter where you start your post-date stroll, all roads lead to Habima. Located in the heart of the city center, there’s something magical and serene about the dimly lit central fountain and surrounding plots of flowers. The addition of lounge chairs (and even a hammock at the end of Rothschild Boulevard!) make this plaza a makeout worthy locale almost hidden from the surrounding hustle and bustle of the city.
With multiple dimly lit rooms and the latest of late night hours, Sputnik is the perfect final stop in a night out. Whether you’re looking to get frisky on the dance floor, or cozy up in the giant outside garden, this spot is a go-to for making out–so summon up some (liquid) courage and make a move!
This chic bar and club is split up into three spaces, each fitting for making a move. Between the semi-secluded bar in the back, a central pick-up bar area, and a floor for dancing, makeout over drinks or while dancing. Make sure to give it your best shot so that your date doesn’t wake up the next morning to a text from you wondering, “Jimmy who?”
At a shared cafe table? In The Museum of the Jewish People? Right outside your office? In Tel Aviv (almost) any spot is a good one for making out. Forget Paris, in Israel’s own city of love, there’s seldom an inappropriate time or place to go in for a kiss–or more.
