Istanbul’s version of an ’80s mega club seems to have abandoned its original plans to draw in the Beyoğlu gay market, so it’s the hetero bridge-and-ferry crowd – save for a few straying homos – who have taken over as customers on Friday or Saturday when it’s open for business. And they are here not only to check out the reasons for the club’s name (namely, a ballroom-sized chandelier, the longest bar among local venues at the foot of the stage and two giant beds flanking another bar in the mezzanine) but also the glitzy drag revue and sexy go-go dancers of both genders on its good-sized stage.
