Formation of a Nation: a photographic flashback

In conjunction with Malaysia's 55th Merdeka and 49th Malaysia Day celebrations, 55 black and white photos that will be on display at the Islamic Arts Museum. The seasoned photos depict our nation's history and struggles in two dimensions. In this special exhibition, the photos are divided into six categories, each signifying the colours and symbols that make up the Jalur Gemilang: yellow (royalty), red (courage), blue (unity), white (sincerity and integrity), stripes (Malaysia's 13 states and Federal Government) and the crescent (Islam and the 14-pointed star).
