32nd German/European Film Weekend: Lidice

One of the most notorious stories of World War II, the Czech village was wiped off the map as reprisal for the British-planned assassinations of Reinhard Heydrich, who was seen as Hitler’s probable successor. All the men in the town were shot, women shipped off to prison camps and children gassed to death.
