The Hunger Games

The sci-fi action-drama film based on the novel by Suzanne Collins finally comes to the big screen. Set in a dystopian future in a nation known as Panem after the destruction of North America by some unknown apocalyptic event, one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 to 18 from each district are selected in an annual lottery to take part in The Hunger Games, an event in which participants (known as Tributes) must fight in an outdoor arena as part entertainment, part retribution for a past rebellion. A highly televised event, the Tributes must fight against each other until one survivor remains.
