It’s no wonder Mark Sixma turned to trance; he grew up in Breda, a city in the Netherlands, and if you know your list of who’s who in electronic music, you’d realise that he’s one of the latest in a long line of acts breaking through from Breda, including Hardwell, Tiësto and W&W. In 2014, he cemented his status with a string of releases: a remix of ‘Adagio For Strings’, ‘Shadow’ as well as reworks of Armin van Buuren and Cosmic Gate, released on Armada Music and Revealed Recordings. The Sixma sound is a mix of energy and emotion: one part big room built on synth arpeggios, one part exultant brand of tranceinducing therapy. He played ASOT 700, Nature One and Ultra Music Festival, so you know you’re in capable hands. All that’s left to do is gear up for a sick night out.
