With a short menu that's focused on what they do best (pork), Crack Pork is one of those places that instinctively understand that less is more. Pork specialists Siew Ching and Juan Lyn (from writing and design backgrounds, respectively) roast their siu yuk and porchetta in the shop, along with the production of Garam Haram (bacon-laced salt the duo started off with).
Siu yuk diehards won't go wrong with the Peking Pork (also known as the Siuyuk Mantao), a Peking duck-inspired dish with roast pork and man tao, one of the best things we've eaten this year. There’s also the porchetta sandwich, where baguettes are paired with salsa verde, rocket, sweet pimento peppers and chopped porchetta. For dessert, go with the salted caramel bacon tart. Crack Pork also organises the occasional porky events (Samyang x Siuyuk Superbowl, Build-Your-Own-Pork-Taco Night, nasi lemak siu yuk), so keep an eye out on their facebook page.
