Time Out says

The American dream gets a kick in the teeth with this series of artworks created by Edward Kienholz. Dating from 1954 - 1967, the 3D assemblages respond to the political climate of the good ole US of A in the middle of the 20th century. The artist is famous for his critique of the capitalist art market, and these artworks take a similarly direct line of fire at his country of birth.
