Time Out Mumbai – Project 88

Project 88 Project 88 - © Raqs Media Collective

Project 88 has built a reputation for showcasing edgy, emerging contemporary artists from the Indian subcontinent who work with video, photography, installation, graphic and multi-media art. This is the gallery’s second time at the Frieze Art Fair – in 2009 it brought over artists like Neha Choksi, who uses childlike forms in her metallic sculptures. Choksi will be seen once again this year in the fair’s outdoor sculpture park. The gallery’s booth will also present Rohini Devasher’s videos and prints, featuring intricate organic patterns, Sandeep Mukherjee’s abstracts on duralene (a translucent paper-like film), Tejal Shah’s documentation of a performance and Raqs Media Collective’s photographs and installation that explore capitalism and the life of Rosa Luxemburg.
