The 'readymade' is a term famously associated with Marcel Duchamp and his graffiti-scrawled urinal. In his latest series of artworks, Merlin Carpenter conducts his own interrogation of the concept by painting hyper-realistic images of 'readymades', including SMEG fridges. It's so real, it even smells slightly of sour milk and mouldy houmous (possibly).
