American artist Scott Carter has created richly-textured work from simple white plasterboard. Using a jigsaw, he cuts shapes from the board and stacks them to create classically-inspired busts and statues. What remains of the plasterboard sheets is used as an engaging backdrop for the statues. This simple yet effective work, and the inspiration behind it, is explained by the friendly staff in this compact, accessible gallery.
