Vera Lutter knows how to go big: the New York-based artist uses full-size shipping containers as pinhole cameras, with exposure times that can last for actual months. Each large-scale, black-and-white image – a negative of the scene being caught – is a true one-off, and eight of them are going on display at Gagosian. These show the Effelsberg telescope in Germany, which collects radio waves that have travelled light years across our universe, and the ancient Greek site of Paestum in southern Italy; together, they offer an invitation to muse on time itself.
