Time Out says

Built in 1904, the museum and its galleries were restored between 1992 and 1997 and include a Lottery-funded 'Town of Kings' Gallery, telling the story of the Borough from Saxon times. One gallery is dedicated to the work of pioneering photographer Eadweard Muybridge (1830-1904), who was born in the area.
