This is a huge Fuller’s pub, right on the main drag and almost large enough to have its own microclimate. Due to its size and location, it attracts a mixed bunch of drinkers – locals, labourers, shoppers, couples, families – and the selection of food and drinks is designed to please all-comers.

There’s the full Fuller’s ale range, for a start, with Pride, ESB, Chiswick and Discovery supplemented by seasonals such as Spring Sprinter. Fuller’s have branded the place an ‘Ale & Pie House’, which should give you an idea what you might find on the food menu.

The pub has a portrait of King George, in whose honour the pub was renamed in the 1820s. However, it opened a half-century earlier, when it traded as the Boston Arms.

This place has undergone a refurb in the last twelve months. Whilst it looks a bit 'identikit British pub' now, the additional couches, combined with their always-ample seating both inside and out, has really turned this into one of our regular spots.

Super friendly staff, good wine list, free wifi, good bathrooms, board games upstairs. The food's fine. You won't notice with everything else it has going for it.

This pub has gone through a major refurbishment last year and is looking totally amazing! this is one of my new favourite pub for drinks in my neighbourhood! You can enjoy live music every Friday evening (great bands!) and a DJ on Saturdays'. There is a garden at the back where you can enjoy your wine al fresco!  A great place for drinks. Have not tried food.

George IV has such a great space. It’s a pub with a cosy feel and friendly staff. The prices of its drinks are reasonable and they do great chips. They have a games room (loads of board games!!) and a fantastic outdoor space. They also have another room  slightly separate for a variety of shows. e.g. comedy and music which are all fantastic. If you are in Chiswick you need to call round here for a drink or, alternatively, make a night of it.

The pub looks really nice and has a lovely atmosphere. It feels very upmarket and so are the prices.

So when we paid £50 for 2 drinks and 2 Sunday Roasts, expectations were high. Unfortunately, the food was a real let down. It felt a bit like they tried to have a different take on a Sunday Roast and it went wrong.

The Yorkshire Pudding was huge, but very crisp and dry and tasted slightly burnt. There was quite a large variety of vegetables on the plate (parsnips, red cabbage, leek), but only just a mouth full from each of them. Don't get me wrong the portion was plenty, it was just a bit odd to only have a taster of each vegetable. And they didn't work very well together either...I still don't know what the leek was doing on that plate it didn't go with anything.

The roast potatoes were crisp to the point of being slightly dry and otherwise pretty bland. The beef had a nice pink colour and seemed to be a good quality, but didn't wow me.

The biggest disappointment (and outrage actually!) however, was the lack of gravy... it was a table spoon full max! C'mon guys, gravy is the best part of Sunday Roast! And absolutely essential when you serve a Yorkshire pudding which resembles a cracker!

Nice pub, with a decent atmosphere, but stay away from the Sunday Roast!
