With swallow-themed wallpaper, knobs on the gents’ door and knockers on the ladies’, this basement bar is kind of kitsch and, accompanied by a soundtrack of guilty pleasures, kind of cheesy.

A bit of a tight squeeze when busy with an up-for-it after-work crowd, the L-shaped bar area is overseen by a team of established and experienced bartenders whose drinks are made quickly and competently with no small amount of smiley showboating. The drinks list contains both contemporary and classic London cocktails alongside some gin drinks and a section dedicated to gastro-mixology – cocktails inspired by the kitchen.

The retro food menu is big on British and a touch tongue-in-cheek, with pick ’n’ mix, penny chews and screwballs featuring beside pork scratchings, sharing platters and pudding cocktails.

A punk gin palace with swallow-themed wallpaper, this basement bar has a kitsch punk vibe. Walking down the stairs the first thing you’ll see is a Jack the Ripper and his dirty wench, designed by one of London’s top graffiti artists and LCC favourite, Aztek. The bar immediately makes an impact.

Follow the dim light path and you will find liquid treasure.

London Cocktail Club offers what I love about London. Amazing cocktails at rare low prices. If you catch their happy hour, you can enjoy whimsical cocktails (but where can't you now?) As well as being Instagram friendly, they are crafted with quality ingredients. The bacon infused Jack Daniels and egg yolk - Egg & Bacon Martini - may sound like the wrong sort of breakfast, but it works.

The Butter Beer is basically a liquid tour of Hogwarts, for a fraction of the price. With vodka, ale and JD Honey, it's far more magical. Aside from the menu, the intimate venue shelters away from the rest of the city. Making this your own London bubble.

Tuesday is the new Thursday! Certainly this is true at London Cocktail Club – Fitzrovia. Music you want to dance to, energetic bartenders and delicious cocktails to boot, this is not a place you want to stay for only one drink, we stayed for four. The bartenders always make or break an experience, and these boys did well, with only 6 hours sleep. How do they have the energy? I asked, and the response was “I’m 21.” Ahh to be young again. See you there next Tuesday for a Butter Beer?

Amazing cocktails - try the bacon and egg and the brixton riot!  Highly recommend going as a small group and sitting at the bar

Went here last week and had some awesome cocktails with the Mrs. They do some weird and wonderful cocktails, which you may need to work yourself up to, but I highly recommend that you do!

I adore this place! What better way to put it than a year ago i had my purse stollen in this bar and I still choose it as one of my go to bars in London. Now a days it is pretty busy so definitely a good idea to book an area in advance as it does tend to be pretty popular. But of course it would be the atmosphere is fun the bartenders are great and the drinks pretty awesome too.

London cocktail club serves a descent cocktail. They have a variety of tasty and unique cocktails in various locations around London. Definitely worth grabbing a drink if it's a two for one offer and would recommend booking a table in advance as some of the locations can be a bit small

So you should know this place gets pretty grotty and sweaty and full of people, but it's a lot of fun. Most importantly, the cocktails are decent. Go for the ginger biscuit one, it's bloody lovely and you'll be served it in a tea cup. Squeeze in, and go for a good time with loud music. Not a place for a chat on a Thurs,Fri or Sat.

we went there because we have time out card that is supposed to give 2 for 1 cocktails. the barman did not accept the card so we paid full price. quite disappointing

Great venue and nice enough cocktails however the staff let it down! The staff were rude when serving and towards the end of the night got worse. Staff poured ice over a customer and rudely telling people to leave. While this could have been meant as a joke it wasn't funny and killed the mood. Surprised they are allowed to behave in this way. Other LCC's have had better service!

I can't get enough of this place! MONDAY'S!!!! Tuesday are my new hungover day…

They do happy hour all night on Mondays on every cocktail 2 for £10. Rocking my world.

The the NYC vibe and the fun playlist… I'm pretty sure i heard back street boys.

right in the heart of fitzrovia, this my fav LCC bar!

VL

Very good cocktails but they have the same song list playing over and over again.

cocktail crazy

year on year i recon this bar actually gets better?! Everyone raves about it and i can see why. In fact... im going tomorrow. Perfect for parties, dates, birthdays. Dont go for a meeting, its not a bar you go to be productive ;-)

I'm tempted to give this place 1 star just so people will stay away and it'll be quieter but the fact is it's a great little bar - little being the reason I'm docking it 1 star (it just gets too busy and too full). Fantastic cocktails, friendly staff and reasonably prices. What's not to love?!

Iain collins

Great staff, great drinks, very fair prices (with some excellent happy hour offers) the only reason I'm docking a star is it gets insanely busy later and the venu just isn't big enough to cope with demand (so go in the afternoon if you can - before 6-7pm). Note: They are opening another one near Centre Point soon (as of late 2011/early 2012).

Rusty

Sorry, pretentious, overpriced and the blandest cocktail I've ever been served!

The Judge

Cant agree more, this is one of the capitals finest cocktail bars and one of the greatest party bars! Fun times and amazing drinks, perfect!

Tony

Excellent bar. Simply great cocktails and atmosphere. What more does a bar need?? Possibly some stunning bar girls, but that is all!

Charlotte

I cannot rate this place highly enough! As a birthday treat for my friend, I booked their Cocktail Masterclass for a group of her friends and it was simply brilliant. Lovely cocktails and faultless service from the bartenders and staff made for an excellent night out. It was so good in fact, we came back the the Cocktail Club later on and had a nice little dance on the bar! I would highly recommend this place, especially for a special occasion.
