The lamb Bloomsbury

I had to work on a Sunday! The joys of event manager roles

However I had time for a sneaky roast before I started work so we booked an early 12.30 slot

This place surprised us with choice - baby chicken, partridge, duck or beef! Best choices so far at Sunday roast club.

As always the repeatable me went for beef however I do this so I can find the true best roast beef on a Sunday.

Safe to say this is not the best beef, it was chewy are barely edible which is a shame as the service we got was 5 star but the food only 3.

Average vegetables nothing I can even remember. Good Yorkshire pudding and bizarre jacket potato style roast potatoes.

I won't be back for a roast but I'd love to come back for a drink after the great welcome and service we got.

History lives in the atmosphere of this fine old Victorian Youngs pub just a few minutes walk from Russell Square tube. Polished woodwork, imposing bar area, a private little "snug" behind the bar and an outdoor garden area make for a very charming and relaxing place to visit. Good range of beers on tap.  Food quality varied from tasteless veggie burger to delicious (and enormous!) fish and chips.  A great place to go to chill out if you're visiting GOSH, British Museum or Foundling Museum.
