Curzon Mayfair

The Curzon Mayfair is the only cinema where Time Out has ever been told off by a fellow moviegoer for eating popcorn too loudly. Which just goes to show what a classy venue this grade II listed cinema is. The bigger of its two screens is a beauty – a 311-seater still in possession of its two original Royal Boxes. The smaller screen is a snug 83-seater. The programme is as brilliant as you'd expect from the Curzon group, a mix of arthouse films, live events and docs, while the bar is suitably stocked with fancy snacks and wines.

At what point do we stop referring to prolific Quebecois director/writer/actor Xavier Dolan as a wunderkind? He's still only 27, but with six feature films under his belt, he already feels like a veteran. But perhaps that moment comes when the won...

The first miracle of Barry Jenkins’s exquisite coming-of-age drama ‘Moonlight’ – and this heartbreaker of a film is filled with miracles – happens around a kitchen table. We’ve already seen quiet, sullen Chiron (Alex Hibbert), a 10-year-old with f...

Gorgeous botique cinema in the heart of London. The seats are comfortable and can be enhanced by your choice of your alcoholic beverage.

Convenience and opulence don't come cheap though and with 3 tickets costing the best part of £50 make sure the film is worth seeing.

Beautiful boutique cinema in the heart of Mayfair. Decent bar and lovely staff (particularly lovely when you drop your full bag of popcorn and they let you have a replacement one).

Lovely cinema just around the corner from the shops and restaurants of pretty Shepherd Market. The main screen is beautiful and quite unusual - it has a space-ship like, modernist ceiling and strange ornate wall decorations. The bar is also quite charming - dark decor, leather seats. Nice chilled atmosphere.
