BP Big Screen: Mayerling

A free live relay from the Royal Opera House of Kenneth MacMillan's 'Mayerling' performed by the Royal Ballet. There will be big screens in Trafalgar Square and in Victoria Park where you can pull up a cushion, bring a picnic and enjoy some top-notch dancing. 'Mayerling' is a grown-up ballet, with plenty of passion and intrigue, based on the true story of the love affairs, madness and eventual suicide of Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria in the late nineteenth century. Edward Watson dances the lead role with principal dancer Mara Galeazzi making her last ever performance with the company as his mistress Mary Vetsera. Alan Titchmarsh presents, with a guest presenter live in Trafalgar Square plus exclusive backstage films.
