Time Out says

This documentary about the European Jewish experience before and during the Holocaust, as understood by descendants of the survivors, uses photography as a keyhole to remembrance. The director finds an archive of her grandmother's 8mm home movies. It contains extraordinary footage shot from the point of view of a privileged Berliner (Albert Einstein was a friend). Then the swastikas start to appear, and the family's Jewishness becomes an issue for the first time.
