Laurent Pelly directs Berlioz's comedic opera in two acts adapted from Shakespeare's evergreen comedy Much Ado About Nothing, which is broadcast live from Glyndebourne's resplendent opera house in East Sussex under the baton of conductor Antonello Manacorda. Benedict proudly clings onto his bachelorhood and denounces marriage. Good friends Don Pedro and Claudio vow to show Benedict the error of his ways and hatch a plan involving the shrewish Beatrice, who has denounced marriage herself.
