In Pursuit Of Silence

An interesting doc about the effect noise has on our lives

To your list of supplies to ward off lurgies in snot season (Vitamin C, Berocca, Echinacea) add 20 minutes in a forest. In a study of 700 city dwellers, a Japanese doctor discovered that spending time in a woodland environment enhances the immune system. That’s just one of the factoids you’ll come away with after watching this informative documentary about the impact of noise on our lives (another is that noise levels on the tube can reach 107 decibels!).

I would highly recommend this unusual documentary. I would also suggest watching it in the cinema, to do full justice to the cinematography and amazing soundscapes. The subject matter is through provoking too. Picturehouse is showing the film currently.
