Lily Tomlin

Film, Comedy
Not a great documentary - one learns little about Tomlin herself - but it is of interest for the way we are allowed to see how she develops her one-woman show over a period of almost two years: lines are changed, characters developed, and timing refined during 'works-in-progress' shows. But the main reason to catch this is for Tomlin's superbly funny performances, sharply satirising contemporary American stereotypes, and proving herself an actress of countless faces and voices.
