13. The Prince and the Showgirl (1957)
Director and star Laurence Olivier paired up with the American starlet for this 1957 flick produced at Pinewood Studios, causing all sorts of local kerfuffle as seen in ‘My Week With Marilyn’. Olivier portrayed Charles, Prince Regent of Carpathia, whose stiff head was turned by Monroe’s breathy showgirl to fairly underwhelming and overly theatrical effect. It spawned another iconic dress or two, mind you.
