Documentary filmmaker George Gittoes follows up his feature Soundtrack To War with an exploration of the music scene in Miami. There, the director joins soldier Elliot Lovett to meet 20-year-old rapper Marcus Lovett, who seems destined for great things until he is murdered by a 16-year-old hit man during the making of the film. Desperate to escape from the ghettos and the violence, Marcus's 14-year-old brother Denzell proudly continues to promote his dead sibling's music and lyrics.
