Time Out says

4 out of 5 stars

This endearing shaggy-dog story about the clash between creativity and commerce in Hollywood sees Alec Baldwin and director James Toback traipse around the 2012 Cannes Film Festival in style, trying to pitch a remake of ‘Last Tango in Paris’. Their plan is to team Baldwin and actress Neve Campbell in a steamy, Iraq-set drama called ‘Last Tango in Tikrit’. There’s no script, and the whole thing is probably a ruse, but the chats they have with the likes of Ryan Gosling and Roman Polanski are funny and insightful. While actors and directors listen politely, finance types are brutal about how much they’d pay to see Baldwin naked (not much). Baldwin and Toback make a snappy comic duo, and half of their talks with a line-up of luminaries focus on the art of filmmaking rather than the business.
