Although Fitzmaurice takes the director credit, this is more a showcase for MGM production sheen than a singular vision. Harlow is cast to type as a wisecracking American chorine in London, where she falls for charming engineer Tone, until his shooting in mysterious circumstances sends her hotfoot to Paris. Enter dashing French pilot Grant. With the outbreak of WWI, Harlow's past soon catches up with her, and this episodic affair flits between light comedy and hackneyed drama, with stops for song and some rather impressive aerial action. Little of it really sticks, but you'll smile when you hear Grant sounding as French as... well, Cary Grant. He even does a singspiel version of 'Did I Remember?' - the most memorable thing in the picture. (From a novel by Herbert Gorman.
