Man looses his son in a frustrating preventable accident, wife wants a divorce and man has to pull himself out of a life slump, trains as a caregiver and ends up working as a caregiver for a quick witted prank loving teenager who is wheelchair bound. Paul Rudd takes the lead and after various false starts pushes the teenager beyond his comfort zone and takes him on a road trip to help him experience life outside of his house, reaching a crescendo of a standing up pee. Sweet funny at times movie worth a watch.
Cute film: full of ‘indie clichés’ but still sweet and enjoyable. Paul
Rudd, as always, fits perfectly in the nice and funny, if a little dejected,
charming caregiver guy who needs as much help as Craig Roberts’ teenager with
Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. There is nothing too exciting about the film, but
the clever dialogues, charming acting and sweet development of the main
characters relationship make up for a perfect Netflix evening!
