Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

‘He’s the only one who could keep up,’ giggles Kate Moss, talking about 78-year-old playboy producer Michael White, who must have been in his late fifties by the time he was putting La Moss into a taxi home at 6am after a night on the tiles. White is the ‘most famous man you’ve never heard of’ says the actress Greta Scacchi, who joins the stars – most of them women – paying tribute in this doc.

He emerges as a loveable rogue. A hopeless optimist, White gambled on cult stage shows like ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ and films like ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’, and introduced radical avant-garde artists like Pina Bausch to London. He was always too busy running after talent (and women) to chase money, and has been royally swindled a few times. Today he lives in a small flat in Notting Hill.

There’s something potentially cruel about interviewing White, who’s had a stroke (he was hospitalised while partying with Jack Nicholson in LA) and is very frail. But he’s got plenty of celebrity friends – Moss, Naomi Watts and Yoko Ono included – to do the talking.
