In October, Time Out sponsored the Debate strand at the London Film Festival. We also took the opportunity to kickstart our own debate, to find out how our readers feel about the state of films and filmgoing in 2012. Here we take a close look at a few of the most interesting results.

So, let’s kick off with the biggie: etiquette. What bad behaviour gets your blood boiling? The answer is loud and clear. While 44 percent of you are fed up with other people gassing during the film, 24 percent can’t stand others fiddling with their phones. So get the message, folks: no need to live Tweet your opinions – the world will wait.

You’re a tolerant bunch when it comes to munching, not particularly bothered by wrapper rustling. As for the 6 percent who voted ‘other’, we reckon it’s heavy petting that gets you hot and bothered.
