Time Out London is looking for a Social Media Producer to join its digital team.

As well as managing our main Facebook and Twitter accounts you'll write devastatingly funny and shareable content for the Time Out website and blog and help us grow our social media offering.

We're looking for someone with a lightning sharp wit and passion for all things digital. You'll be the sort of person who combs through the fine detail of every new Facebook product release; knows who to follow on Twitter (and maybe has a loyal band of followers of your very own) and loves exploring the best things to do in the capital.

The successful candidate will be able to make Londoners laugh every day and want to help them uncover new experiences. You'll be able to think fast and come up with fun and compelling ideas at short notice.

The Social Media Producer works closely with the Deputy Editor and section editors to deliver content across all Time Out’s social media platforms.

The Producer’s role is to grow our audience and entertain and inform them every day. They should keep up with the ever-changing nature of social media and always be ready to come up with a new idea or try out the latest tools. You’ll help our audience make the most of the city they live in, no matter when or how they come to Time Out – providing inspiration and information and enabling them to experience the best of what the city has to offer.

Role responsibilities

- Create unique and arresting content that makes Time Out stand out on social media.
- Keep our followers engaged and entertained.
- Grow Time Out’s audience on key social media channels.
- Drive traffic to the Time Out London website and blog.
- Work with a cross departmental team to develop Time Out’s strategy for highlighting user generated content.
- Develop Time Out’s presence on emerging social media platforms and assist in raising the profile of Time Out Digital Limited.
- Keep all Time Out teams informed about the field by sharing knowledge of new social media developments.
- Be internally and externally recognised as an ambassador for Time Out values.
- Be an authority on the Time Out brand and competitors.
- Ensure that the brand standards are met across all platforms.
- Promote the brand and its values at all opportunities.

Key requirements

- Manage social media output across all channels, delivering a regular flow of posts every day.
- Work with team of content producers to promote new and timely content from timeout.com/london.
- Create games, polls and quizzes, or any other suitable features, to support wider editorial content.
- Work with the Deputy Editor to integrate content from social media into online features.
- Work closely with the Blog Editor to plan and generate ideas for content.
- Write regular posts for the Time Out Blog.
- Generate feature ideas for ‘This week in London’ in Time Out magazine and write copy as needed.
- Work with the Deputy Editor to identify and prioritise opportunities offered by new social platforms.
- Train the wider editorial team in social media best practice.
- Contribute ideas for commercial integrations and sponsorships.
- Devise strategies and campaigns to consistently grow our numbers of  followers and fans.
- Generate ideas that will inspire our users to contribute content for use in digital and print features.
- Respond regularly to our users’ feedback and queries.
- Report our social media performance to the rest of the business every week.
- Ensure all output is consistent with Time Out’s editorial style and brand values.

Skills, knowledge and experience

- Experience managing social media in a publishing environment.
- Knowledgeable about a wide range of social platforms and their uses.
- Experience using a range of social media tools.
- Experience using content management systems.
- A good understanding of SEO and how it shapes the content production process.
- Proficient in using Photoshop.
- Good understanding of HTML, Javascript and CSS a plus.
- Ability to shoot and edit video a plus.
- Awareness of key London events throughout the calendar year.
- A track record in delivering content on time and to brief.
