Level 5 Function Room , South Bank Tuesday October 22 2013 19:45 - 22:00
Recently named one of the world's best LGBT events by blouinartinfo.com, this lively literary salon is held monthly at the Southbank Centre and hosted by Time Out's Paul Burston. Polari showcases the best in new, emerging and established literary talent. There's also The Polari First Book Prize, which is awarded each year to a new LGBT literary voice. There's a bar and a bookstall, provided by Foyles Bookshop. Advance booking is strongly advised. Tonight Jonathan Harvey heads the bill, reading from his new novel 'The Confusion of Karen Carpenter'. Plus Diriye Osman, Mo Foster, Robyn Vinten and Lyn Guest de Swarte. And as it's almost Halloween, fancy dress is encouraged.
