The Tropical Zoo

The zoo includes animals from every tropical region on earth, including macaws, lemurs, scorpions, snakes and spiders, many of which have been rescued from the illegal pet trade, or from private collectors or zoos, where their specific needs could not be met. 'Animal Encounters' handling sessions take place at weekends and on public holidays (11am, 2pm 4pm). From spring to autumn the zoo's Bengalese Eagle Owl, Ozzie, is flown twice a day (ring for times).
