Not for nothing did this Edinburgh trio win Best Group at the BBC Folk Awards three years in a row. Their fiddle- and accordion-stoked avant-folk has a traditional heart, but fitted with an electronic pace-maker. Their third album, 2012's 'Race the Loser', saw them team up with REM/Sufjan Stevens producer Tucker Martine for an endlessly shifting, steadfastedly stirring set.
