The study day begins with Part I (11am-1.30pm): 'The Theatre Music of Sibelius' by Andrew Barnett Chairman, UK Sibelius Society. Plus, 'Sibelius Today. Sibelius’s Influence on Subsequent and Contemporary Composers' by composer Julian Anderson. After lunch, Part II (2.30pm-5pm): 'Sibelius’s First Versions' by Edward Clark President, UK Sibelius Society. Plus, 'Sibelius and the Symphonic Quest' – David Matthews responds to his symphonic heritage with particuar reference to Sibelius.
