The décor is this longstanding Battersea party spot is pastiche Britannia – old Queenie on the wall, a typewriter in a phone box – with tables and sofas positioned around a hexagonal bar and dancefloor waiting to happen. There’s a separate, more subdued space for dining, and a large, no-nonsense area out the back.
The mostly twentysomething crowd revel in the many themed events – Tea Party Saturdays, Bloody Mary Sundays (bombed the Earl Grey too hard the day before?), plus cocktail-making classes and late weekend openings. But the real draw is Happy Hour: from Tuesday to Saturday, 5-8pm, and all day on Sunday, cocktails costs around £6. The menu has a strong showing of classics, and the mixes are perfect if you like your concoctions on the hopped-up side of sugary.

I really enjoyed a very tender fillet steak with the bonus of three sauces so I could mix up the taste experience (Red Wine & Peppercorn, Chilli & Coriander & Whiskey BBQ) Then we enjoyed a dance in the main pub area a fun night had all round!
Went last Saturday for my birthday with about 20 of us...couldn't have been any better.
We all had a fantastic time and it was all very easy going which was great. The staff were brilliant, very friendly and gave us the corner area by the window so there were enough seats for everyone. A couple of delicious steak platters and 'thermo-nuclear' cocktails later and we were primed for the DJ, who was absolutely great. All in all it made for a memorable birthday (now that I can remember the night!) Will definitely be back. Thanks!
Had my party in there over the weekend. Was a great night - good music, even better cocktails and the bar staff were bang on.
The only minor thing I would say is that I booked over the phone but then when I emailed to check the booking they said I needed to fill in a form so make sure you do this and don't just take a verbal booking as a given.
Having said that, the night was great and I'll definitely go back.
Went to Lost Angel last Saturday and had such a great time, the staff had made a massive effort with their venue and it looked fantastic! It was really busy but still plenty of room to dance and such a friendly atmosphere. I was really impressed with how much effort the staff had gone to as! thanks for a great night!
As a new resident in London I felt extremely lucky to have the Lost Angel as my local! Amazing food, whether you're in the pub or the restaurant area, super friendly staff... And the best bit: £5 cocktails all day Sunday!
My wife and I made our wedding reception at the Lost Angel. If we could go back in time and do everything again we would definitely choose this venue once more! We were thrilled that everyone did their best to ensure that our special day goes perfectly. The attention to every little detail and a smiling staff provided us and our guests a memorable night!! All our guests absolutely loved the atmosphere of the venue and the food. As for us, we were very grateful that the Lost Angel managed to accommodated our needs and special requests. Actually, there is noting to say except that we loved every moment of our wedding reception at the Lost Angel! We are looking forward to come back and thank everyone in person!!
We came here for our engagement drinks and we couldn't have chosen a better place! The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble and we were very much looked after. Would recommended to anyone - they also do great cocktails :-)
I went here for my birthday lunch, there were 15 of us. The service was fantastic and the food was incredible. Everyone commented on how great everything was (venue, staff, food). I would re-visit here over and over again, in fact I probably will.
If you're already a familiar face on the South-of-the-river party scene then you'll know exactly where to find The Lost Angel already, and we suggest you pop down after their refurbishment to experience the new eatery, The Gaslight Grill. Their big opening party forced me to drink every cocktail on the menu and sample canapés all evening... It's a hard life. Building on the excellent reputation of the The Lost Society bars, and in the style of a luxurious Victorian Gin Palace, The Gaslight Grill has a quaint interior and comfy garden to the rear of The Lost Angel on Battersea Park Road. Not the obvious place for a classy and delicious restaurant, but it has the benefit of looking even better compared to its neighbours. In this perfect summer weather this is definitely the time to make a late night booking and throw yourself into a giant, outdoor sofa for the rest of the day...
I happened to go to this pub twice in two weeks and had two completely different experiences (both excellent!) First time was on a Saturday night. We arrived at about 5pm and settled into the bar as it got more and more packed and steadily louder! It was a cracking evening - there was table service and lots of lovely cocktails, brilliant atmosphere and good music (at one point Pink Floyd!). The decor is really interesting too - gothic, shabby chic and eclectic. The next week I came here with a different set of friends after going to the Affordable Art Fair (brilliant by the way!) It was a Wednesday evening, about 7.30pm and the pub was really quiet. We were able to walk in and get a table in the restaurant (there was no hope on the Saturday!) So we sat down and tried their food properly this time. OH MY GOD! If you like your red meat, this is place for you. My three friends had various steaks and I had the venison. It was all absolutely delicious. The best thing is that you get three (yes, THREE!) sauces with your steak and there's a huge list to choose from. I only got one (perfectly relevant) sauce with the venison, so I dipped into the others, and we voted the walnut and truffle sauce (not creamy, yey!) the best thing we had ever tried, ever!
Wicked time this weekend. music was amazing and the garden is a great place to hang out. The queue for drinks can be a little long but cocktails seem to be their speciality.
Been there before, great night.Last night i could not be let into the door,i was not smartly dressed.i was not in jeans,i was not in trainers.if i was i could have understood. All the other guys behind me snickers t shirts you name it. When i called my friend to tell them we couldnt get in the doors staff turned around and now agreed to let us in!!Management please train your doors staff, i did expect such prejudice at this time and age
An absolutely fantastic evening, in such a beautiful venue. A real diamond in the rough (who'd have expected such a place in battersea!). I had the chateaubriand and my partner had the fillet steak, and it couldn't have been better. There's so many average gastropubs around its great to have a devoted steak house. And don't even get me started in their sauce selection! Cocktails were great, and a good selection of ales (brodies is a personal fave). Staff were also excellent without being overbearing (special mention to the lovely Italian girl who's name I forget). But all in all, a great night will definitely be goin back!
What a great evening I had at the Gaslight Grill. Food and cocktails were exceptional and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive but not in your face and let you get on with your evening. Will definitely be coming back again. Thanks to all the staff at the gaslight :)
I recently visited The Lost Angel for the first time and was sooooo impressed! The night was busy but found the staff to be so nice and eager to please contrary to some other reviews! The venue is beautiful and I plan on going back for dinner soon and making the most of the night, the food looked amazing so I plan on fuelling up on dinner, then lots of cocktails and dancing the night away! You have to check this place out!
In the 12 years I have lived in London this is - without doubt - the worst bar I have ever been to. As others have commented, the staff are beyond rude and incapable of putting together a drinks order without rolling their eyes (that is once you have managed to fight your way to the bar). It doesn't stop at the staff though, the crowd were the most aggressive, socially inept bunch of morons I have ever met. If they don't have a dozen fights to deal with on a Saturday night I would be surprised. The fact it has ever received an award is a disgrace.
The five of us had a great time on Saturday night, the food was wonderful and though very busy I though the service was very good. This is a hidden gem.
The most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered in my life. Great venue shame about the people. The manager is unwilling to take any criticism of his aggressive and rude staff. I am sad and disappointed about the standards in general. oh and don't leave your drink out of your hand it will be removed in an instant! 0/10
Headed down to The Lost Angel for dinner on the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed! Had the most amazing food, I was told that they had just created their new menu and boy was it good! I would definately come back again and would tell everyone to get down there!! Also what capped it off was the charming service oh and the Espresso Martini at the end!!
just had a lush dinner at the lost angel. a friend told me to 'like' them on facebook and i got 50% off my bill...result!! the food was scrumptious and the cocktails delicious! our waitress was dead friendly and really helpful with my gluten free friend. i shall be back lost angel!!
Does its job as a late night boozer but only if you're willing to put up with staff who are too cool to do their jobs properly, i.e. serve drinks. On two occasions the bar team were either too overwhelmed or too drunk to cope with numbers as soon as business picked up a little after midnight. 15-20 min. waiting time to get a simple drink while they fuss around with cocktails...
Me and my kids went for sunday lunch last week, after having been before Christmas with a Groupon voucher with the hubby. After having a romantic dinner with him during the week, the bubbly atmosphere of sundays was a surprise! the food was yummy, the staff were friendly and acccomodating (especially with my kids!) and the live music was fantastic! this may become a bit of a sunday habit!
