JS Bach's oratorio 'St Matthew Passion', BWV244, is performed by London Handel Orchestra and Choir of St George's under Laurence Cummings, with Nathan Vale (Evangelist), George Humphreys (Christus), Miriam Allan (soprano), with Christopher Lowrey (countertenor) and William Berger (bass). (JS Bach's 'St Matthew Passion' is performed as originally intended as part of Vespers, including the congregational hymns and the Jacob Handl Gallus motet 'Ecce quomodo moritur justus', that Bach himself chose for the Good Friday Vespers service. The Passion is sung in German and finishes at approximately 6.30pm.)
