Dalston’s prime spot for a Turkish grilling, big flavours drawing in big crowds.
Benefiting from Dalston’s gentrification, 19 Numara Bos Cirrik has firmly established itself as the hipsters’ ocakbası of choice, yet standards haven’t slipped at this ever-busy joint. First impressions are positive: the bread is piping-hot, feather-light, smoky and carrying hints of onion and tomato. As it’s grilled right beside the kebabs, waiters helpfully warn customers the bread may contain ‘meat juice’. The pide is every bit as good. Our sucuklu yumurtali pide (pepperoni and egg) was delicate and golden, with crisp edges and just the right amount of cheddar, tomato and green peppers. Another main, lamb beyti, was excellent too, its balance of garlic, chilli and smoky charcoal tones just right. However, starters were bland: imam bayıldı didn’t seem fresh and the mücver needed more dill and mint to give it flavour. The restaurant’s interior doesn’t have much personality to speak of, and the piped muzak doesn’t help. Service can be aloof and it would be nice to see more than two Turkish bottles on the wine list. Nevertheless, with sensible pricing, solid cooking and nice little touches such as izgara sogan (grilled onions in pomegranate sauce) coming with every meal, this east London institution remains a good bet.

This is my second time at this restaurant and i am so happy that i have found this place in stoke newington because i have try all the turkish restaurants in stoke newington road and i havent had the same taste cirrik do because the way they make fresh salad and pomegranate onion its so good.. this is the place to eat fresh shepherd salad and kebab
This is the small restaurant in that area you wouldn't accept a amazing decorating inside the restaurant however the food is amazing!!!! i havent seen a good food like this in Turkey i think Cirrik 1 is the best place to go and eat and drink some wine....
We were regular customers in this little restaurant, we wanted to have our favourite menu tonight and sadly see it is not open any more. We will miss it badly, the food was always fresh and tasty ,the staffs friendly and polite.

I just returned from Cirrik restaurant where me and the family always go to as the food is lovely. there was 10 of us i ordered Lamb ribs with rice, I looked at my food to find a big long hair in my rice, I got the waiters attention and i said i have a hair in my food. The waiter said no problem I do another one for you. This has already ruined my dinner as others are eating and I'm waiting for my food, he didn't even apologize. After the meal we asked for the bill to find I was charged twice for my meal (how rude and cheeky) I said how can you charge someone two meals worth when its the restaurants fault for having hair in the food? I think the waiter is new as I have never seen him before hes tall with spiky hair and claims to be the manager in which i have never ever seen him before. I asked to speak to the manager and he just had his hand out waiting for me to hand over the money and said pay and never come back. The chef ended up getting involved saying he doesn't care and respect about me (how can you not care about your customer) I was in so much shock, very very disgusted and I am never ever returning.
Went here last night with my girlfriend, very impressed. Nice cosy atmosphere, friendly & efficient service, and above all the food was DELICIOUS! You get loads of little interesting salad plates gratis with the mains. All round great place to go on a Wednesday night (I'm sure it's great on other nights too, but can't vouch for that)
Went here last night after coming on a weeknight a few months ago and I was so surprised at how different it was. I specially brought a friend as the first time it was Delicious and amazing service!! This time it was TERRIBLE. We were asked to move tables midway through our meal, they didn't have any Turkish Pide, the waiters forgot about us several times (even once the food was out getting cold I was still waiting for cutlery). A disappointment.
This is the one of the famous restaurant i go in London because the way they cook the food and serve. You can see your food cooking front of you and they make fresh salad and bread also made in the restaurant and its really tasteful. I dont agree why people give 1 starr if time-out choose 4 and 5 stars every year then they dont have to judge the restaurant as a 1 star because people in timeout go to restaurant and eat and look at the service and food so they know what they doing...
This isn't the best place in the world, but it gets five stars from me because for the value of the meal, it doesn't get much better in London. There are only a couple of other Turkish places that can compete with this place. Really nice main courses, the chicken and lamb are almost always cooked to perfection. The salads are really nice and if you go at the right time (when the grill isn't full of meat) the bread will be heated on the grill with the meat. And if is, I can assure you that you will have finished the basket of bread by the time the main arrives. A little tea is always offered after a meal. The staff service isn't perfect but what do you expect? This is Dalston and the staff always do their job fine as far as I am concerned. The people moaning about this place are the Dalston trendies that everybody in the universe hates. They think they are the most important people in the world. They know nothing.
I have no idea what the one star reviewers were on, or what they ordered - but this is the best Turkish in Dalston by some distance. Unlike most places which offer up a half-hearted grilled meat / rice / salad combo, there is a true sense of joined up flavour appreciation behind the combinations. Chargrilled onions in pomegranate molasses, beetroot juice and sumac are a highlight - and you get those free with any main. The esme chopped salad is also sensational - roasted tomatoes/onions and again pomegranate molasses and sumac lifting the whole thing. I wish I could say I've tried the whole menu, but actually I can't stop ordering the same couple of dishes whenever I go in there - the lamb chops and the lamb beyti yogurtlu are superb. And, as a previous reviewer has said, the bread with meat juices - if you're lucky enough to get it - is simply stunning. One word of advice - don't overorder on the starters - they're so generous with the free side dishes that you won't be able to get out of the place.
AMAZING turkish food best i've ever had. Get the ribs, they are honestly the best things you will have ever eaten! Service when busy can be a little slow and at times staff can be grumpy but the food is worth the wait. Also the bread they bring thats soaked in meat juice between courses is the single most addictive thing in the world. ENJOY!
We were a group of 20 on Saturday night for a friends birthday. When we arrived and had been seated for 5 mins, we realised that there were not enough wine glasses on the table for the number of people. We politely asked for more. We were told that they were on the table, it took a while for us to plead for enough glasses. We were brought menus and there were not enough for the number of people. We asked for more and were told to share (1 menu between 2 is fine, but 1 between 4?). We thought that the food would make up for the unfriendly service received so far, after all the reviews were all good. We ordered starters and mains. Starters arrived quickly. I had the hallumi cheese, which I thought would be grilled but was actually deep fried. My fault for not clarifying and not to my taste, but that's not their fault. Everyone seemed to enjoy the starters and the bread was lovely. We then had over a 90 minute wait for the mains with no apology or explanation that we would be waiting for so long. I ordered the mixed kebab which was described as a meal for one person on the menu. It wasok. My friend ordered the mixed kebab described on the menu as for 2-3 people for himself and his girlfriend. They said they wanted the mixed kebab for 2. What they got was the same kebab as me, for one person. When they tried to ask the waiter what had happened, he shrugged and told them they should have asked for the full kebab (this was not clear in the menu). Everyone seemed to enjoy their food but it was nothing special, especially considering the service and after waiting for so long, you would enjoy your food. When finished, we had to ask for the bill several times. Most people were paying cash. My wife asked the waiter to please bring the card machine. The waiter told her they only accepted cash. I had half of it and we borrowed from another friend. The waiter told us that a cash machine was outside but the nearest was actually 10 min walk away. As we were leaving we saw other people paying by card, and on their door a sign saying they welcomed cards. Well they were not welcoming to us and we were not drinking and rowdy, we were not rude so I do not know the place that all of the other reviewers went to as it seems we were at a different place :(
I booked a table for 5 to celebrate my friend's Birthday on St. Valentines night , I was expecting them to rush our orders since they had people queuing on the door... But they were wonderful, very attentive, we asked them to hold the mains for 30 minutes and they did it without a problem... all the food arrived at the same time and it was perfect, both waiters were great and even with a packed restaurant, the offered to put the candles on the cake and light them... We had a perfect evening for less than £20 a head. Thanks a lot, I will be coming back...
Don't go in a big group. This place ruined my friends birthday - terrible service and attitude, main courses took 2 hours, and the wrong items arrived, begging for the bill for 30 minutes, I and my 17 friends will never go back here. The food was ok, but not good enough to overlook all of the bad points. Never again.
Lamb Et Behti Yoghutlu, Lamb Ribs, Albanian Liver, the thing with all the veg starter thing.. absolute classic eating.. best turkish in London without a shadow of a doubt. the food just keeps on coming with these bros.
I cannot speak highly enough of this place. The food is simply delicious. The staff are so friendly and attentive. For London, the prices are refreshingly low. A mile away on Upper Street you would pay three times as much for food half as good. Will definitely be coming back here. A real gem of a restaurant.
