Cheap quality, bad service, high prices. What can I say, that place just cant get it right. Grumpy waitress, slow food service, missing customer service. I gave it second chance this week since last year and surprise surprise it was the same waitress from last year without any improvement. I dont understand how this get past by managers and supervisors. The food was cheap looking and not tasting nice and we paid nearly £25 for 2 coffees and 2 breakfast. Thank you very much- never again!!!
Just had another awful lunch at The Blue Mountain Cafe. It looks lovely inside with a great ambience so we thought we'd give it another go, but my sandwich was once again on dry day old bread with hard chewy bacon and my friends quiche was bland and tasteless - she just left it after a couple of mouthfuls! I have no idea why they can't get it right in here. We paid nearly £20 for a dry old sandwich, a piece of bland quiche, one juice and a coke! Not good enough. Will not be going back!
I wish I could comment on the food as it looked lovely. Unfortunately we sat for 30 minutes on a hot day gagging for thirst and without anyone taking an order. When we finally called someone over to try and order they said they couldnt take orders for food as they were too busy and at some unspecified time in the future they might come and take an order. We finally left having had nothing, noone at any point had advised us we couldnt order food and it would take an hour just to get a coffee.Really disappointing as Im new to the area, live just down the road and have been keen to try this place out for a while, I could have been a regular customer but sadly I wont bother again!
I went there last week with a friend to grab a bite to eat. At first I thought the prices were a bit high (although standard for that type of cute cafe) but it was worth it as the food I had was so lovely! I had the goats cheese and roasted vegetable ciabatta. Delicious!
Yes this place maybe a tad pricey - but as the person below this isnt a greasy spoon - food is lovely Great coffee and gorgeous carrot cake - even took some home Will defiantely be returning
Looks like it could be a good place but ruined by condescending staff and an expensive menu. Also they hardly bother when customer numbers are low, which is most of the week. The last time I went was peak time on a week day and there were only 4 bowls of tired looking salads in the display... they charged a huge amount for the pleasure of choosing three out of the four & refused to add any to an already over priced main dish. I think it's good for a coffee or smoothie - it has a few pastries, and the breakfasts are nice. It really looks the part especially at weekends when the people come out so I do hope if the service has more of a smile and they improve the variety during the week it has a chance of survival.
Had a great brunch here on a Sunday morning. Freshly squeezed orange juice and wholemeal toast. No greasy spoon, this Café has a great selection of cakes, quiches and even pies. All fresh, the cooked breakfast was delicious, with perfect scrambled eggs.
