A casual steak-and-cocktails joint in Fulham.

There’s a crusade happening just around the corner from Fulham Broadway: to reintroduce the masses to an almost forgotten cut of beef, the flank, or ‘hanger’ steak. No other cut is available at Hanger and it’s the main focus of the menu, treated with almost religious reverence. Decor is equally single-minded: unfussy and minimal. Starters and desserts are distractions, really – salt beef croquettes and charred piquillo peppers were perfectly nice if not breathtaking; later, a pecan pie came in the same category. Pre-epiphany, sides appeared before the mains and excellent triple-cooked chips had almost gone by the time the meat arrived. The spiced mac and cheese had a kick but needed a stronger cheese for the base sauce.

And so to Hanger’s icon. They recommend serving it medium-rare, but we were assured medium is also fine and it was. I went large and received an enormous 12-inch strip, the meat sliced into thick juicy slabs. It was melt-in-the-mouth tender. Absolute heaven. I was an immediate convert. The burger – barely minced chunks of supremely good steak precariously held together by blue cheese and caramelised onions – was also ‘de-flipping-licious’ according to my companion. Then, when our plates were empty, we considered the sheer value for money, shook our heads in amazement and gave thanks. Here endeth the lesson. Amen.

Bottomless weekends at Hanger & Cellar - need I say any more. Yes, go hungry. W

We went along for the bottomless Sunday roast - which is served with bottomless Malbec for an additional £15 . The hanger steak and bavette were both fantastic – absolutely cooked to perfection for me which is pink in the middle but still with a nice charred, caramelised crust to the outside of the meat. The steaks were soft, juicy and tender and when paired with the rich, velvety and smooth ox jus, truly scrumptious.


Ensure you can help yourself to a hearty portion of the cauliflower gratin – it is creamy and velvety and invites you to dive in. The crust on the top has a satisfying chew and overall it is, well, very cheesy. Perfect for warming you on a cold day.

Market greens always make a nice accompaniment, and these were perfectly well done. The Yorkshire puddings were decidedly average – they could have been fluffier all around and crispier on the bottom. But, the thick caramelised onion puree that topped them was perfectly balanced between bitterness and sweetness.

The only disappointment were the roast potatoes. When they arrived, they looked so much promising – golden and tempting. However, they were incredibly hard – even too much for me who lusts after a crispy potato skin – and outrageously salty. One bite was enough to put me off.

The Malbec that is served with the Sunday lunch is very quaffable. Nice and smooth with a bit of body that complements the steak well. If you’re going with a group of three or more, it is probably a nice way to enjoy some wine with your roast without worrying too much about cost.

I thoroughly enjoyed Hanger & Steak. The environment was clean, light, spacious and modern and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A great place to while away a few hours with good food and good wine.

Oh what I’d give to have this steak house as my local. First up, I love this place. Aside from the steak restaurant upstairs, the downstairs bar is a cute, cosy (though dimly lit) bar cellar that is pretty awesome (and serves a mean bacon old fashioned)

And the food? Well, with a new raft of small plates to get you started, you’ll be more than happy before the steak even arrives. The  pig cheek croquettes with lovage pesto IS A MUST. I genuinely absolutely love that pesto so much I would eat just that. But then, throw in some great other small plates to round it out and I’m already happy.

And then the steak. Yes.  Yes. Yes. Get a sauce to go with it, share with a mate (as they’re fairly hefty if you have small plates too) and you’ll be laughing. More than laughing. You’ll be rolling out of this heaven sent restaurant all the way home!

I've only been to Fulham once before and that was to watch Hull city play Chelsea. I think we actually drew but it was Hulls first experience in the premier league a fair few years ago now... oh yer I'm here to write a review!!

My brother sent me a link to this place and my first impression was great, sleek website and an appealing steak roast for £15 with cauliflower cheese! Oh yes hello I am sold.

We walked into Hanger which has a very wooden metal decor rather hipster for Fulham I thought. It was also empty which I thought was odd for a Sunday but I just think maybe customers are not aware they do a mean Sunday roast for £15 and expect it just to do normal steak meals.

Our service was fantastic, a great manager willing to welcome our northern sarcasm and cheeky requests of extra gravy.

I'm sure I don't need to describe this roast as I am confident the picture describes it well enough. However I have to tell you I have FINALLY found crispy roast potatoes in London which I thought was impossible!!

With my roast I picked out guests a lovely house red wine at just £19 a bottle It was lovely.

When it came to dessert I resisted but I think the manager realised we all needed an espresso martini which was appropriately named in the receipt as 'pharmaceutical stimulant'

I was actually asked for a rating out of 5 by the manager and I said 4.5 but we don't have that option. My only fault was slightly too crispy Yorkshire pudding and I would have liked more green veg.

We drank a fair few drinks so our bill was around £43 each with a well deserved tip but I would genuinely go back here and recommend to anyone that asked me!

If you love steak and you love roasts this is for you.


A Hanger brunch and a glass of fizz was the perfect way to start our weekend in London. The hash browns are the best I've ever tasted! Fact! If we didn't have our little boy with us i would've loved to have sampled the cocktails in the bar downstairs - it looked amazing! Good excuse to go back and try the evening menu!


Great steak and great value, a really enjoyable local restaurant that i'll definitely be revisiting.


I've been to this restaurant a few times. It's a local business with a simple seasonal menu! Obviously steak is the main event, I've had the hanger more ham once and I've tro d the picanha. I've not been disappointed and it's such great value! I would also recommend pre or post cocktails in their secret downstairs, love the house Chelsea sidecar. I will be returning!


I went to Hanger last week for a reunion dinner with friends (there were 10 of us!). I really enjoyed the evening. The staff working there were very friendly and helped us to choose our meals. The food itself was delicious, and amazing value for money - my steak was cooked to perfection. Lovely wine to match our food and even nicer cocktails for dessert, which we enjoyed in the bar downstairs. There's a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant and great tunes on in the background. Would definitely go again - highly recommended!


Hanger is definitely the best restaurant in the area, I loved the "Hanger" steak especially the the way its cooked over a charcoal grill. The cocktail bar down stairs is also a great place to meet up for some pre dinner drinks or even some after. I brought a few colleagues out for a work night and they all really enjoyed the food and the experienc


HangerSw6 has achieved what others have tried and failed to do- casual and fun restaurant with a simple tasty menu and a cracking bar downstairs- you've got to visit this place- its hard to leave!


Have been to Hanger for dinner and bottomless brunch - Both times the food was excellent and I would highly recommend anyone to pop in to try it! Steaks are delicious and the restaurant has a great ambience. 


I tried the picanha steak with a side of their specialty mac and cheese. It blew my mind.

I returned to try their specialty Philly steak burger. Outstanding.


Was recommended Hanger by a friend for someplace to have a group dinner on a recent trip to London. It didn't disappoint. Quality of the food was amazing and cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere, great wine and an especially nice espresso martini at the end. Try the spiced Mac and cheese - delish


Having noticed Hanger a couple of times while walking past I finally managed to go check it out with some friends last week. I had a steak which was perfectly cooked and some chips. We also got a selection of the starters that really impressed me especially the mac n cheese ones which were spot on. The price is very reasonable especially for Fulham. There is a nice downstairs room which is a great place to go and relax after your meal and there was some live music when we went but I'm not sure thats on everyday. All in all a great addition to the area and definitely the best steak in the area!  


I had a fabulous dinner here on a Friday evening. The steak was perfectly cooked for me served with a side of lovely chips. I cannot recommend the brownie enough I loved it! After our meal we moved downstairs to enjoy the live music and cocktails. It was my first visit to Hanger but I was very impressed with the food and the service and the lovely atmosphere, I would highly recommend this place.



I bought a voucher from Timeout for a £20 bottomless brunch. We went on a Saturday afternoon and although the restaurant wasn't very busy it had a nice atmosphere. The voucher included one meal of their brunch menu and bottomless drinks. We were meant to choose between Bellinis, Mimosas or Bloody Marys but the Manager let us mix between them which was great!


I had the steak and eggs which was not huge, but delicious. The hash browns were definitely my favourite part of the meal so make sure you get a side order if yours doesn't come with them.


I would like to visit again for dinner to try out the full menu, but I probably wouldn't go back for brunch.
