This buzzing area at Stratford's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is home to all manner of companies and institutions (think BT Sport, UCL and Big Data tech firms) but it's becoming best known for its food and drink output thanks to a very decent bunch of restaurants and street food spots.
Hungry Here East visitors can get stuck into wings, chicken burgers and sides at Randy's Wing Bar, rustic Italian trattoria fare at Gotto, from the same people behind Mele e Pere, a British menu with plenty of foraged bits and bobs at Shanes on Canalside, breakfasts from a Canalside outpost from reliable chain The Breakfast Club, and Mother for eco-conscious food.
And to drink? Cocktails and retro arcade games from Four Quarter East, superb coffee at Saint Espresso, and The Lock Inn, a classic, but good, local pub.
